Richard Geary, Founder of the Deaf Reach Program was invited to speak at the side event hosted by the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. The theme for this year’s event was Breaking the Divide: Connecting Communities. His insightful presentation walked notable audience members through the Deaf Reach model focused on empowering deaf girls in Pakistan. The holistic model focused on education, livelihood skills training, life skills-based learning and job placement all tailored to break barriers to access and pave the way to an empowered and inclusive community through education.
